全球已有超過125國宣示將於2050年達成「淨零碳排」（Net-Zero），包含美國、歐盟、日本、韓國等。因應全球化減碳趨勢，我國亦已宣布和全球同步規劃策略路徑；台灣企業面臨全球「淨零」法規趨嚴壓力，如何淨零碳排永續經營，加入國際認可之供應鏈體系，已成為我國企業及其貿易、生產和供應鏈之關鍵課題。
清華大學於今年3月結合台灣氣侯聯盟、工研院、天下永續會共同宣示推動台灣氣候行動落實；為接續提升技術能量整合，深化淨零相關議題探論，廣納各方建言，協助企業備戰全球淨零碳排賽局，清華五校聯盟舉辦「2022永續淨零技術論壇」系列講座。
In March of 2022, NTHU, in collaboration with the Taiwan Climate Alliance, the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the CommonWealth Council for Sustainable Development(天下永續會), jointly declared their commitment to promoting climate action in Taiwan. To further enhance the integration of technological capabilities and deepen discussions on net-zero-related issues, while gathering input from various fields, they are assisting businesses in preparing for the global competition in achieving net-zero carbon emissions. As part of these efforts, the NTHU-led "2022 Sustainable Net-Zero Technology Forum" series of lectures and discussions are being organized in partnership with the Five Universities Alliance.
